【Urakawa】Cancelled: 「The 53th Yushun no Sato Urakawa Cherry Blossom Festival」
The illumination on Obake Cherry Blossom viewing is also cancelled.
The 53rd Yushun-no-Sato Urakawa Cherry Blossom Festival, organized by the Urakawa Tourist Association, has been canceled. With a heavy heart, this decision was made to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection. “Yushun-no-Sato Urakawa Cherry Blossom Festival” has been held in early May every year, which both locals and travelers looked forward for.
The original schedule was:
“Cherry blossom tunnel illuminations”
“The #UrakawaCherryBlossom2020 Instagram Campaign”
“Let’s look at the cherry blossoms from above”
“Presenting the Urakawa Obake Sakura”.
The above four events were scheduled to be held on April 12, 2020.
However, in response to the “Emergency Joint Declaration of Sapporo City, Hokkaido” dated April 12, 2020, we have decided not to hold these events and to cancel them altogether.
It is with great regret that we announce that “the 53rd Yushun-no-Sato Urakawa Cherry Blossom Festival” will be cancelled this year.
