Cape Erimo, also knows as “the land of the wind”. There are more than 260 days a year when the wind blows at 10m/s (22mph) or faster.
In such an environment, over 600 harbor seals live comfortably on the reefs where waves crash from left and right.
Another popular attraction is the heart-shaped lake Toyoniko, which has recently been featured in a cookie commercial.

Cape Erimo is the place where the 180km long Hidaka Mountain range, the backbone of Hokkaido, sinks into the sea. It is a breathtaking sight of waves crashing into both sides of the mountains as they transform into a 2km long reef. It is also a famous place where the sun both rises from and sets into the sea. Submerge yourself in the environment where sea, wind, waves, mountains, and the sun converge in Cape Erimo.

This is the heart-shaped lake made famous from the Shiroi Koibito cookie commercials. Surrounded by rich natural forest with a wide variety of life, it is home to the “Pika”, a rabbit-like animal of family Ochotonidae and a survivor of the Ice Age. The voice of the Pika, a high pitched squeak, is a signal that they are nearby!

About 300 cherry trees including Ezo yamazakura, Someiyoshino, and Yonezakura have been planted in Sakura Park.
There is also a 300-year-old "married couple cherry tree" in the park, which is made up of several trees that have intertwined to form a single cherry tree.
The name comes from the fact that it looks like a couple leaning on each other.
